My family and I were visiting from out of town a received a good tip from a friend who lives locally. They did not lie! You can't miss on the portions and quality of food here! You might have to wait a little longer than most places to get your food, but it is worth the wait. Just finishing it up on the third day.

Please afford your customers the ability to sit in a cool car while waiting for food; not stand in the rain or HEAT! Went to Sonya’s seafood on Brookland park and they have buzzers; I am sure you can afford us this service too!

The fish was excellent — fresh, well seasoned, and the fries were fried but crisp not greasy — topped off with bean pie for desert, atmosphere was culturally welcome with good old school music— and the service, well it felt like being home— kindness and smiles and they even showed us the food before we took it back to our outside table and just ate, laughed and enjoyed the beauty of the moment. Thanks for making our date night special. We WILL be back. The owner even stopped by our table to see how our meal was and let me say Sugar’s is a real blessing — 🙏🏽❤️❤️

I was in Richmond for a few hours, so I decided to try Sugar's Crab Shack. I really didn't have high expectations due to some of the reviews. I am glad that I stopped by because I really enjoyed the food. I had the whiting salad, fried shrimp, and I tried the deviled crab cake. I really enjoyed everything and will be back. The employees were also very friendly and helpful.

First time here, won't be the last. Huge portions for a reasonable price. The catfish was excellent, with a spicy breading. Very friendly service as well. The seating is all outdoors, but there are umbrellas at every table, so it's not a problem unless it's pouring.
